How it works

  1. Upload your audio file. Drag and drop an audio file (MP3, WAV, M4A, FLAC, OGG, or AAC) onto DomeScribe or click the upload button to browse your device. Free accounts can upload files up to 30 minutes and 50 MB; Pro raises that to 4 hours and 500 MB.
  2. Click Transcribe. DomeScribe uploads the file and runs it through Whisper. The recording's language is detected automatically — multilingual recordings are transcribed in the language being spoken.
  3. Wait a few minutes. Expect roughly a tenth of the recording's length: a one-hour interview takes about six minutes. Progress is shown while it runs.
  4. Download the text output. Check the transcript for accuracy, then download it as plain text (free account; DOCX, PDF, and JSON on paid plans). Use it for meeting notes, interview write-ups, or lecture summaries.

Can DomeScribe distinguish between multiple speakers in an audio file?

DomeScribe produces a single continuous, timestamped transcript of all spoken words. Speaker diarization (labeling who said what) is not available, but the transcript captures every voice in the recording.

What is the maximum audio file size I can upload?

Free accounts can upload files up to 50 MB and 30 minutes long; Pro raises that to 500 MB and 4 hours, Business to 2 GB and 8 hours. For large uncompressed WAV recordings, compressing to MP3 first (DomeScribe's audio compressor does this in your browser) speeds up the upload without hurting transcription quality.

Is my uploaded audio stored on DomeScribe servers?

The original upload is deleted after processing. A compressed audio copy is kept only so you can play the recording back next to its transcript, and it is deleted together with the transcript — transcripts are AES-256 encrypted at rest and auto-deleted after 30 days, or sooner if you delete them.

Can I transcribe phone call recordings?

Yes, phone call recordings work well as long as both sides of the conversation are captured in the audio file. Recordings from apps like Voice Memos, call recorders, or VoIP platforms can all be uploaded to DomeScribe and transcribed.
