Terms of Service
The rules for using DomeScribe, in plain language. Billing and refund terms are in section 8.

1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using DomeScribe, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
2. Description of Service
DomeScribe provides transcription of audio and video (from an uploaded file, a link to a supported platform, or pasted text); AI features built on the transcript (summaries with chapters, repurposed drafts, chat, clip picks); Clip Studio, which cuts vertical clips from your own footage in the browser; and browser-based tools for converting, compressing, and extracting audio from files you upload. When a link is provided, DomeScribe fetches the media only to produce a transcript; a compressed audio copy is kept solely for in-app playback for the transcript's lifetime and is never provided as a file. DomeScribe does not provide copies of media obtained from third-party platforms. Conversion, compression, and audio extraction are processed in your browser. Features and limits vary by plan.
3. Account Registration & Security
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials. You must notify us immediately of any unauthorised use of your account. We strongly recommend enabling two-factor authentication (2FA).
4. Acceptable Use Policy
You may only transcribe content you own or have permission to transcribe; every link submission asks you to confirm this. You may not use DomeScribe to process illegal content, infringe on copyrights, perform bulk scraping, or circumvent platform security measures. Violations may result in immediate account termination.
5. Intellectual Property
You retain all rights to your content. DomeScribe claims no ownership over your uploaded files, transcripts, or the AI drafts, summaries, and clips generated from them — you may use those outputs as you see fit and are responsible for reviewing them before publishing. We never use your content to train AI or machine-learning models. We own the platform software and design.
6. Data Privacy & Processing
Transcripts are encrypted at rest with per-user keys and auto-delete after 30 days. Uploaded recordings are deleted once transcribed; a compressed audio copy is kept only for in-app playback for the transcript's lifetime. You can export or erase your data at any time via the Privacy & Data dashboard. See our Privacy Policy for complete details.
7. AI Features and Credits
AI features consume the credits included in your plan, shown before each action. AI output is generated automatically and may contain errors or omissions; review it before relying on it or publishing it. Temporary unavailability of an AI provider is not a breach of these Terms, and nothing is charged for a generation that fails.
8. Subscription & Billing
Subscriptions auto-renew monthly or annually. You may cancel at any time; cancellation takes effect at the end of the billing period, and you keep access until then. Refunds: because the free plan lets you evaluate DomeScribe before paying, paid refunds are limited. We will refund a subscription only if requested within 7 days of the charge AND you have made minimal use of the service that billing period — no more than 15 minutes of transcription and no more than 10 actions (such as conversions or audio extractions) — limited to one refund per customer. Top-up minute packs are non-refundable once purchased. These limits do not apply to genuine billing errors (such as a duplicate charge), which we will always correct. Nothing here limits rights you may have under applicable consumer-protection law.
9. Service Availability
We aim for high availability but do not commit to a specific uptime figure on self-serve plans; planned maintenance is announced by email where practical.
10. Limitation of Liability
DomeScribe is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages. Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid in the 12 months prior to the claim.
11. Termination
You may cancel your account at any time from your account settings. Upon termination, you may export your data within 30 days. After 30 days, all data is permanently deleted. We may terminate accounts for violation of these terms, with or without notice.
12. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, USA. Disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Delaware.
