Convert Video to Audio Online

Pick a video file from your device and extract the audio track. MP3 is free; FLAC, WAV, M4A, and more on paid plans. Runs in your browser.

How it works

  1. Upload a video file. Drag an MP4, MOV, WebM, MKV, or AVI file into DomeScribe. The audio is extracted on your device — nothing is uploaded.
  2. Choose your audio output format. MP3 is free. On paid plans you can also pick M4A or AAC (256 kbps), OGG, lossless FLAC or WAV, or "keep original" to copy the embedded stream out untouched.
  3. Extract the audio. Click Extract. DomeScribe discards the video data and encodes (or copies) the audio track on your device.
  4. Save the audio file. Save the result with a free account — a lightweight audio file for podcasts, music projects, or offline listening.

Frequently asked questions

Which audio format should I choose when extracting from video?

MP3 (free) is best for general listening and sharing. On paid plans, WAV or FLAC are ideal if you plan to edit the audio in a DAW, M4A (AAC) suits Apple devices, and "keep original" copies the embedded stream out untouched.

Can I extract audio from a video that has multiple audio tracks?

DomeScribe extracts the video's default (first) audio track. Selecting a different language or commentary track is not supported yet.

Will the extracted audio include the full length of the video?

Yes — DomeScribe extracts the entire duration of the video from start to finish. If you only need a portion, trim the audio afterwards in any audio editor.

What video formats can I extract audio from?

MP4, MOV, WebM, MKV, and AVI files from your device. Platform links are not accepted — the extractor works on files only and never uploads them.

Is extracting audio faster than a full video conversion?

Significantly faster. Since no video encoding is needed, only the audio stream is processed — on your device, not on a server — so even long videos are done in a minute or two.
